Dim red light can be useful for nearby tasks when you want to limit disruption to dark adaptation, but brightness and exposure still matter. Keep any light as dim as practical; red light does not guarantee your night vision remains unchanged.

Yes. Open the color picker to choose from presets or set a custom color. Choose a color and brightness that suit the task. Dim red or warm tones may be comfortable in darkness, while colored light can alter how objects appear.

Possibly. Lithium-ion batteries already perform worse in cold temperatures, and running your screen at full brightness adds to that drain. If you're using this outdoors in winter, keep your phone as warm as practical and expect faster battery loss than usual.

Yes, set the color to a warm, dim tone and keep brightness moderate rather than maxed out. Full white brightness at night will be harsh both for your own eyes and for anyone nearby.

If you're seeing flicker on a steady (non-strobe) light setting, it's likely your screen's own refresh rate or an aggressive battery-saver mode interacting with the display. Try disabling battery saver mode temporarily, since some phones dim or throttle the screen to save power.
